JOLIET, IL – Governors State's volleyball team closed out the road portion of its 2016 campaign with a three-set loss (24-26, 18-25, 11-25) at St. Francis Tuesday evening at the Sullivan Center. The Fighting Saints (27-11, 16-3 CCAC) won its fifth-straight match to remain just percentage points out of first place in the CCAC South Division while the Jaguars fell to 10-24 overall and 2-16 in the CCAC.

"We really held our own in the first set against one of the better teams in the CCAC," said GSU Head Coach Pedro Gonzalez. "It was another good learning experience for us as we build towards the future."

Ashley Pickert compiled 11 kills and Hayley Wacker added nine spikes to lead the Jaguars offensively. Setter Lizette Gonzalez returned to the lineup after missing a match on Saturday, and registered 27 assists.  Defensive specialist Anastasija Jurisic gathered 14 digs.

GSU returns home Thursday for its final match of the season, hosting Calumet St. Joseph. Five Jaguars will be honored on Senior Night.
