WARRENVILLE, IL – With the conference meet just four weeks away, Governors State set its sights on a strong showing at the Eagle Invitational, held Friday at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve.

GSU's three entries ran most of the race tightly packed with Matthew McNeil earning the first TTF (top team finish) of his career with a time of 34:34.5 on the eight-kilometer course. Freshman Jake Diaz trailed by a few paces at 34:39.5 with teammate DeVenchie Catron on his heels two-seconds behind.

"What we're seeing is a group of guys who are really pushing each other and that's only going to make us stronger as a team," said GSU Head Coach Kevin Kredens.

The Jaguars return to action next Saturday, taking part in the Skyhawk Invitational in Dixon.
