Jaguar Win Streak Ends at IU South Bend
SOUTH BEND, IN—Governors State saw its three-game conference win streak snapped in a 103-58 loss to IU South Bend at the Student Activities Center Tuesday evening.
The Jaguars (4-3, 3-2 CCAC) fell behind 7-0 and spent the rest of the game playing catch-up as IU South Bend never relinquished its lead.
Kennedy Weigt paced GSU in scoring for the second-straight game, posting 14 points while Sharnita Breeze added 11 points; both players were on the court for a team-high 36 minutes. Justice Crooks went a perfect 4-for-4 in field goal attempts and Gaetana Davis collected a team-high five rebounds Ce'niyah Hampton earned the start at point guard in place of Jordan Towery, who was not available.
IUSB (7-3, 2-2 CCAC) shot an efficient 57.8 percent from the floor and was 17-for-17 from the free throw line. Maddie Gard led all scorers with 23 points in 23 minutes of action. The Titans remain unbeaten at home against GSU (6-0).
Governors State will take a break from CCAC action this weekend, traveling to the Siena Heights Thanksgiving Classic in Adrian, Mich. GSU encounters host Siena Heights on Saturday and faces Lawrence Tech Sunday.
