Athletics and Recreation Center

The Athletics and Recreation Center (known as The ARC) has served as home to the Governors State men's and women's basketball and women's volleyball programs since 2015-16.
Built in 1970, The ARC was renovated in 2014 to accomodate NAIA competition. The summer of 2018 saw the installation of new bleachers, giving the facility a seating capacity of 575. A video broadcast tower was also constructed to aid in video streams produced by the Division of Digital Learning and Media Design (DLMD).
Located in Building A, The ARC has hosted two Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Finals (2017, 2018), with the 2018 championship game drawing a standing-room-crowd of 562. Other notable events have included a CCAC Volleyball Crossover (October 2017), the Jaguars Tip-Off Classic (2017, 2018, 2019) and the King Hardwood Classic (January 2016).
The first varsity competition was held on August 25, 2015 as GSU dropped a volleyball match to IU Northwest.
The Jaguars have enjoyed a home-court advantage in University Park. The men's basketball team owns a 39-12 home record over the past three seasons, highlighted by a 14-game winning streak.
All told, The ARC has hosted 190 competitions and welcomed over 18,000 spectators through its doors in five varsity seasons.
