GovState Fall Sports Team With Busy Labor Day Weekend - Teams Competing Fri Sat Sun Mon on Road

GovState Athletics Fall sports teams are in action starting today and competing all four days of the Labor Day holiday weekend on the road.

Friday Aug. 29, at 6 pm is the men's and women's cross country teams season opener running in Channahon, IL at the St. Francis Invitational meet against some ot the top CC teams in the Midwest.

#24 ranked GSU men's soccer (1-1) is playing two top ten teams this weekend - at #10 Indiana Wesleyan Saturday and vs. #4 Cumberlands (KY) Monday in Ohio. Catch both games live stream at www.GSUJaguars.com .

GSU Cross Country Head Coach John Niendorf has his men's and women's teams opening the season Friday at the St. Francis Fall Opener in Channahon, IL.

"I am incredibly excited for this first race of the season. Both the men's and women's teams have come into this season in great shape. They have been running 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 mile weeks all summer and have put in the work. They're hungry and looking to perform well this first meet. We, as a coaching staff, have high expectations for them this season and we believe they will meet the challenge head on. I cannot wait to see how they perform at Channahon Community Park this Friday," said Coach Niendorf.
