Spring Semester 2026 Athletics Academic Achievements — Summary

  • Overall performance: The department posted a 3.20 term GPA (up 3% from Fall 2025) and a 3.15 cumulative GPA. Across all teams, 68% of student-athletes earned a GPA above 3.0, 89% remained in good academic standing, and 90% were academically eligible.
  • Team academic standouts:
    • Women's Volleyball: 3.49 team GPA; 83% above 3.0; 94% eligible.
    • Women's Bowling: 3.45 team GPA; 80% above 3.0; 90% eligible.
    • Women's Soccer: 3.39 team GPA; 92% above 3.0; 100% eligible.
    • Women's Cross Country & Track: 3.34 team GPA; 85% above 3.0; 96% eligible.
    • Men's Volleyball: 3.33 team GPA; 75% above 3.0; 91% eligible.
    • Men's Golf: 3.31 team GPA; 87% above 3.0; 100% eligible.

    • 98 student-athletes were nominated for the 2025–2026 CCAC All-Academic award, with Governors State Women's Cross Country leading the conference with 12 nominees.
    • 72 student-athletes were nominated for the 2025–2026 NAIA Scholar Athlete award.
    • Women's Soccer earned the 2025 Jaguar Scholar Team of the Year award.
  • Trends by team (Fall 2023 to Spring 2026 highlights):
    • Notable term improvements in Spring 2026 include Men's Cross Country/Track & Field (up to 3.27), Men's Golf (3.31), Women's Soccer (3.39), and Women's Volleyball (3.49).
    • Stability at or above 3.30 for several women's programs (Bowling, Cross Country/Track, Soccer, Volleyball, Golf) underscores consistent academic excellence.
  • Student-athlete cohort: 241 total student-athletes (152 men, 89 women) participated in Spring 2026.
