GSU Coach John Niendorf was very pleased with his teams' performance at the 2025 CCAC Championships.
"Conference was exciting to say the least. There were so many gutsy performances, that it really made myself and the coaching staff proud."
"On the men's side Clark Fremouw was All-Conference in the discus, taking 2nd overall in the meet. The thrower also scored points in hammer and shot put as well, helping the team score tremendously. Sean O'Brien took 8th place in javelin, scoring a point for the Jaguars. Austin Martin placed 4th and 5th place in the Triple and long jump, scoring nine points for GSU. Russell Ward ran 1:58 in the 800 and took 7th place in the meet. Colin O'Brien, a freshman, earned All-Conference honors with his 3rd place finish in the steeple chase. Him and his teammate, Elija Jones, were the first ever GSU athletes to compete in steeple chase at conference. The men's 4x800 placed 5th overall in the meet. Daniel Wright scored five points for the Jaguars with his 4th place finish in the 400-meter dash. Daniel Zavala beat the previous meet record in the 10k, running a time of 31:38 in the 6.2-mile-long event."
"On the women's side Avery Kittl earned All-Conference with her 2nd place finish in the 10k, running a 40:37. Her running mates, Morgan Pieczynski and Emilia Kadiyala placed 4th and 7th respectively. All three of them combined scored fifteen points for the Jaguars. The women's 4x800 team, consisting of Kaylee O'Sullivan, Yahaira Rodriguez, Sydney Bonham, and Krysta Stanko placed 2nd overall in the meet, earning All-Conference accolades. Sydney Bonham placed 7th in the 800 as well. Krysta Stanko placed 4th in the 5k with a time of 18:14, earning herself another personal record for the season. Kaylee O'Sullivan helped score as well with her 8th place finish in the 5k. The women's 4x4 also placed 5th overall for the conference."
"Overall, I was very pleased with the effort put out there over the two-day conference. There was never any quit in any of their eyes, and I was so happy with the way they competed out there with programs that have been around for decades. The team is incredibly young, and I see a lot of good things to come for them over the coming seasons," said Coach Niendorf.
