GSU's Roman Shoots Below Par, Gains Men's Golf Weekly Honors
CHICAGO --- Shooting two strokes under par during the seven-day period ending Oct. 12 has earned Governors State University's Julio Roman (Las Piedras, Puerto Rico) Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week accolades, the league office announced on Wednesday.
Roman opened with a 72 on Saturday before firing a 68 on Sunday at the par-71 Defiance College (Ohio) Fall Championships. The sophomore's two-day total of 140 tied him for second place in the 100-person field and led the Jaguars to a second-place team finish among eight squads.
