Women's Soccer Boasts 112 All-Academic Team Members
CHICAGO --- Women's soccer gained the most all-academic honorees amongst the five fall Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference sports when the league office announced the recipients on Tuesday afternoon. A total of 112 individuals gained the distinction with Trinity Christian College turning in the largest haul with 20 selections.
Regular-season co-champion and tournament title-holder St. Ambrose University was one spot back with 19 awardees. Also gaining at least 10 spots on the team were Olivet Nazarene University (17) and Viterbo University (11).
Joining the list were another eight selections each from Governors State University and Holy Cross College, while Indiana University Northwest, Indiana University South Bend and Saint Xavier University had six names on the squad. Also represented were five members of both the Judson University and University of St. Francis programs and one from Mount Mary University.
Among the list of recipients were 19 players named for the third year in a row and 33 for the second time. Nine individuals secured perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point averages.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
