VOLLEYBALL JAGUARS OPEN 2023 SEASON FRIDAY AT OLIVET NAZARENE TOURNAMENT - GSU WITH TWO MATCHES FRIDAY, ONE SATURDAY - PLAY #14 COLUMBIA COLLEGE FRIDAY NIGHT

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL - The 2023 GSU Jaguars volleyball team opens the season Friday competing at the Olivet Nazarene University Tournament in Bourbannais, IL.

Governors State University opens the season against York University of Nebraska and the NAIA KCAC Conference at 5 p.m. Then at 7 p.m., GSU matches up against #14 NAIA ranked Columbia College of Missouri, 29-11 in 2022 season .

On Saturday, GSU plays Mount Marty University, of Yankton, SD, NAIA GPAC Conference at 10 a.m. CST.

GSU Head Volleyball Coach Pete Gonzalez has been happy with his teams preseason training practices leading into the season opener.  "We have had some good practices and I am pleased with the

depth on our team and the competition level of our scrimmages," said Coach Gonzalez. "When you have two teams and team depth in practices with similar levels, it has been good for our team. We now have to see how we execute

and play against the talented competition we will face this weekend."
