RANDY ALMARALES SIGN GSU MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY-TRACK NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT IN 2023-2024, NEW JAGUAR SIGNEE

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL - GSU Men's Head Cross Country and Track Coach John Niendorf announced the signing of Randy Almarales (Addison, Illinois, Addison Trail High School, College of DuPage transfer) to a National Letter of Intent to attend Governor State University in 2023-2024 and run cross country and track for the Jaguars.

"We are so happy that Randy decided to continue his running career here at GSU. He was an All-American at College of DuPage and will add veteran leadership to our young program. Randy had an excellent attitude towards the sport, and it is obvious that he cares about his teammates. His desire and will to win is going to help propel our program going forward," said GSU Coach Niendorf on Almarales.

Hometown:  Addison, IL

High School:  Addison Trail High School (Graduation year 2019) - Three-years varsity cross country at Addison Trail HS

College:  College of DuPage  - NJCAA D3 National team champions in XC and Track, individual runner, All-American at DuPage.

Parents:  Michele and Rodys Almarales

GSU Major:  Mathematics

Why Did Randy Choose GSU: " GSU has my major (Mathematics) and Coach Niendorf reached out for a visit. The campus is beautiful and the people were so welcoming."
