GSU Falls in Road Match to Trinity International

DEERFIELD, IL—In its lone conference match for the week, Governors State was swept by Trinity International by the scores of 25-15, 25-17, 28-26, Tuesday evening in Van Dixhorn Arena. The Jaguars fell to 0-4 overall (0-4 CCAC) while TIU, which has played 13 matches already, improved to 11-2 overall and 2-1 in the CCAC.

Trinity finished with a 44-19 advantage in kills as Ivana Novakovic lead the Jaguars with eight kills. The fifth-year senior is now 50 kills shy of 1,000 for her career. First-year Janelle White gathered a team-high seven digs. Five GSU players logged service aces on the night.

Madison Williams registered 13 kills for the Trojans and former Jaguar Lana Vujosevic finished with nine kills.

Next up for Governors State is a trip to the Manchester Invitational on Friday and Saturday. GSU faces Franklin and Manchester opening night before taking on IU Northwest and Dominican the next day.
