GSU Volleyball Loses a Thriller to Trinity Christian

PALOS HEIGHTS, IL—For the eighth time this season, Governors State found itself in a five-set battle as the Jaguars were defeated 3-games-to-2 by Trinity Christian in CCAC action Tuesday evening from DeVos Gymnasium. The set scores were 22-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-12, 13-15.

Both teams were looking for their first conference win and it was Trinity Christian (2-15, 1-6 CCAC) that achieved success by having four players in double-digit kills.

Dunja Tatic led GSU's attack with 19 kills, adding to her career total that has surpassed 1,500. Ivana Novakovic added 18 kills and hit .318 while defensively, Emma Marcukaitis came up with 22 digs. Jennifer Barwicka contributed six blocks (two solos, four assisted) and Yareli Pacheco turned in 41 assists. During the four set, GSU hit .438 as a team, drilling 16 kills against just two errors.

The Jaguars (3-10, 0-7 CCAC) stay on the road to take on St. Francis Thursday night at the Sullivan Center.
