NLI Signing: Chris Montgomery (MXC)

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL—The Governors State men's cross country team has signed high school senior Chris Montgomery to a National Letter of Intent for the 2022 season.

Honors: Two-time all-conference selection and a state qualifier in cross country; two-time team MVP; conference track champion in the two mile event
Reason for choosing GSU: "I'm excited to run for my high school coach. As soon as I heard he would be coaching (at GSU), I wanted to sign right away. I want to help make this into a competitive cross country program."

Chris is tenacious and will provide a huge culture shift for our program. He has good leadership skills, is an organizer and shows and has a lot of self-initiative.
