Jaguars Win Home Opener 58-57 On CCAC Championship Ring Ceremony Night - GSU Now 3-0

Davina Smith hit a offensive rebound, game-winning basket in the lane with 11 seconds remaining to lift the Jaguars to a 58-57 home opener win in the ARC Wednesday night.

The Jaguars tough defense keyed the fourth quarter comeback out-scoring Aquinas (1-1) 17-12 in the final ten minutes for the win, turning over the Saints in the final seconds.

Cencere McDaniel had 19 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals and Kalvina Eubanks scored 14 points and had 4 assists to pace the offense. Kennedy White scored five points and hit two big shots down the stretch.

Davina Smith scored 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals playing 39 minutes.

GovState next plays at Holy Cross, November 12, 4:30 PM CST in Indiana to open the CCAC Conference season.

Big Night for GovState women's basketballl honoring the record-setting 2024-25, 29-6 CCAC championship team and all 8 players were in attendance to receive their championship rings.

Ring Ceremony will begin: 5:30pm

Tipoff Time: 6:00pm vs. Aquinas College (MI) - Gov State 2-0 in the 2025-26 season, winning two games last weekend at the Olivet Nazarene University Chick Fil A Classic Tournament in Bourbonnais, IL.
