Cahue Commits to GSU Men's Soccer

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL — Andres (Andy) Cahue, a senior midfielder from Lincoln-Way East High School, has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Governors State men's soccer program for the 2019 season.

Playing for coach Ryan Decker, Cahue collected seven assists and captained the Griffins to a 16-4-1 record and a regional championship last fall. The Frankfort, Illinois native played club soccer for the Chicago Fire Juniors South.

The son of Patricia and Gerardo Cahue, Andy is an honor roll student at LWE and plans to major in physical therapy at GSU.

"Andy is everything we want in a student-athlete, he is a very coachable player with a big upside," said GSU Head Coach Matt Eggert. "His work ethic is second to none. We expect him to challenge for minutes his freshman year."
