Espinoza Signs with Jaguar Soccer
UNIVERSITY PARK, IL — Collaboration between soccer coaches at Governors State has resulted in the latest signing for the men's program, set to debut this fall.
When Matt Eggert went in search of a forward, he didn't have to go far as his new signee, Eric Espinoza, played club soccer for GSU Women's Coach Ante Cop.
An Indianapolis native, Espinoza played three seasons for FC Pride under Cop following a stellar prep career at Lawrence Central High School. Espinoza was a three-time all-conference selection and chosen second team All-County his junior campaign. He also became the first freshman to score in a varsity game for the Fighting Indians.
The son of Patricia and Jesus Espinoza, Eric will major in Health Science at GSU.
"Eric is a lighting quick winger with a big engine and a fantastic work rate that just doesn't quit," said GSU Head Coach Matt Eggert.
