Men's Soccer Signs First-Ever Recruit in Oviedo

UNIVERSITY PARK, IL — The Governors State men's soccer team, set to debut this August, has signed its first recruit in 5-foot-9 midfielder Cielo Oviedo.

A Chicago native and first-year student at GSU, Oviedo most recently captained the GSU club soccer team. He previously played a year of varsity soccer at Lincoln Park High School, where he also competed on the cross country and track teams.

The son of Davon Gibson and Guadalupe Oviedo, Cielo is majoring in elementary education. He will have three years of eligibility with the Jaguars.
