Gov State Head Women's Basketball Coach Tonishea Mack and her 2025-26 team worked with the Memorial Junior High School girls' basketball teams earlier in October.

"We were invited to Memorial Junior High School in Lansing, Illinois to work with their 7th and 8th grade girls' basketball team. Governors State Women's basketball players and Coaches demonstrated to the girls showing them fundamentals of : passing , shooting, ball handling, and defense drills."

"The best part about this opportunity was the Q & A session at the end. We opened the floor for the 7th and 8th girls to ask question to the players and coaches. This lasted 45 minutes of great dialogue and conversation that I believe not only inspired the young ladies but our current players as well. Our current players spoke about a multitude of things from: attitudes, energy, time management, bullying, respect, character, hard work, friendship, morals/values, schoolwork/academic, social life, being a student athlete, etc. and their answers not only influenced but reflected the NAIA's core values: Integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership," said Coach Tmack.

The Jaguars open the 2025-26 season Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 competing in the Olivet Nazarene University Tournament in Bourbonnais, IL.
