Women's Basketball Winter Classic - #6 Freed-Hardeman Beats GovState in Championship Game - Team Forfeit Win Weds vs. Trinity Christian - Host Judson 1 PM Saturday in the ARC

GovState Women's Basketball Winter Classic - Teams Include - #6 Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) (Now 14-0 After Winning Two Games In Tournament) 

Day 2 Scores in the GovState Winter Classic - December 30 -

Midway 81, Pikeville 72 - Alexys Moore scored 30 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists to lead the Eagles (9-4) in the win over the Pikeville Bears (7-8).

In the championship game, Freed-Hardeman (14-0) beat GovState 63-34 and had three players score in double figures: Jenna Satterly 17, Lilly Kee 16, and Ally Weathers 12 for the winners.

GovState (8-7) was led by Cencere McDaniel with 11 points and Kalvina Eubanks had 8 points and a game-high 9 rebounds for the Jaguars.

Governors State next plays at home, hosting Judson, Saturday, Jan. 10, 1 PM in the GSU ARC.  (GovState game Jan. 7 at Trinity Christian will be a forfeit win over TCC).

Day 1 - Winter Classic Results - #6 (13-0) Freed-Hardeman (TN) 80-57 beat Pikeville (KY) (7-7) in the opening game.

Lilly Kee led the Lions with a double-double 29 points-11 rebounds. Ally Weathers 17 points  Jenna Saterly scored 16 points for the winners.

GovState (8-6) beat Midway University (KY) 66-54 in the second game with three players scoring in double figures led by Davina Smith 16 points, 6 rebounds, two blocked shots.

Journae Cotton scored 15 points, Cencere McDaniel 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and Kalvina Eubanks had 6 points and a game-high 13 rebounds for the host Jaguars.
