Jaguar Golf Finishes 17th at Clarke Fall Invitational
GALENA, IL—Less than 24 hours after opening its 2022-23 campaign, Governors State was back on the course traveling to the Clarke Fall Invitational on Thursday. The Jaguars compiled a score of 393 to finish 17th on The General course at Eagle Ridge Resort. Iowa Central CC took home the team trophy with a 304, finishing nine strokes ahead of runner-up Black Hawk CC.
GSU kept its lineup intact from yesterday. Adam Taylor posted a team-low round of 83 while Rowdy Frey produced an 85. Hillel Watkins carded a 94 and Tyler Bannon finished at 131. Luke Galeazzi of Hawkeye CC won medalist honors with a 1-over-par 73.
"It was good to get another round of golf under our belts as we gear up for a busy fall season," said GSU Coach Fred Hawkins. "The guys are positioning themselves for improvement and giving good effort."
The Jaguars are back in action next Wednesday as the Jaguars Fall Invitational returns after a three-year hiatus. GSU will host the third installment of the tournament at the SPG Green Garden Country Club in Frankfort.
