18th Ranked GSU Women's Bowlers 10th at Indy Tier 1 Tournament - NAIA National Selection Show Wednesday
INDIANAPOLIS, IN. – The GovState women's bowling team finished 10th at the biggest Tier 1 event of the season (62 teams), Columbia 300 Hoosier Classic this past weekend. This event concludes their regular season tournament schedule.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day event consisted of five team games on Saturday followed by 15 baker games on Sunday, bowled in three 5 game blocks. After the 5 traditional games and 15 baker games the top 8 teams moved on to bracket play to determine the winner.
HIGHLIGHTS: The Jaguars were led by Sophomore, Kahlen Ranson, who shot 1054, averaging 210.8, with a high game of 245. Other Jaguars leaders were Grad student Olivia Daujatas with a score of 1045, averaging 209 and Freshman, Jenna Ritchie with a score of 1036, averaging 207.2.
WOMEN'S RESULTS: At the conclusion of the individual games, GovState was in 5th place with a total pin fall of 5030.
GovState Jaguars finished the tournament in 10th place with a total pinfall of 7925, missing bracket play by 78 pins. Judson University won the event in a thrilling 3-2 match over SCAD-Savannah.
WHAT'S NEXT? The Jaguars await the selection show from USBC to determine their Sectional destination. USBC Sectionals take place March 7-9th in the following cities: Addison, Illinois, Detroit, Michigan, Smyrna, Tennessee and Dallas, Texas. The selection show takes place on Wednesday, February 19th at 7pm Eastern on BowlTV.
