GovState Women's Bowling Opens Season Last Weekend at Midwest Collegiate Championships in Detroit Suburb - Sterling Heights, MI -

STERLING HEIGHTS, MI. – The GovState Women's Bowling team finished 11th at the Brunswick Midwest Collegiate Championships this past weekend.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: The two-day event consisted of five team games on Saturday followed by 16 baker games on Sunday, bowled in four, 4 game blocks. After the 5 traditional games (plus a 4 hour power outage) and 16 baker games the top 8 teams moved on to bracket play to determine the winner. 

LANE PATTERN: 

  • Length: 42 ft (medium-long)
  • Volume: 27.75 mL (medium-heavy)
  • Ratio: 2.5:1 (sport pattern)

 HIGHLIGHTS: The Jaguars were led by Junior, Haley Leuze with 963, averaging 192.6. Other Jaguars leaders include Juniors, Kahlen Ranson (949), Cameryn Landers (945), and Samantha Mann (941). 
 
WOMEN'S RESULTS: At the conclusion of the individual and baker games, GovState finished in 11th place out of 42 teams, with a total pin fall of 7398, missing the top 8 cut by 56 pins. 
 
SCAD-Savannah won the event over Cumberland University in the Championship match.

WHAT'S NEXT? The Jaguars are back on the road Friday, October 10th to the Tier II Western Shootout in Indianapolis, IN.
