Women's Basketball Suffers Home Loss to Lincoln
UNIVERSITY PARK, IL—Governors State mounted a late comeback attempt but it wasn't enough in a 69-60 setback to Lincoln in CCAC action from the Athletics and Recreation Center Saturday afternoon. The win gave Lincoln a split in the season series.
Trailing by 20 points with 8:24 left in the third quarter, the Jaguars (7-15, 6-9 CCAC) closed to within eight points in the final stanza before running out of time.
Cashay Dixon led the Orange and Black with 22 points. Jordan Towery played all 40 minutes, finishing with 15 points, seven assists, five rebounds and four steals. Sharnita Breeze compiled 12 points.
Lincoln (3-14, 3-12 CCAC) was paced by center Camile Buckhanon, who scored 24 points in the low post along with nine rebounds. Guard Autumn Goram chipped in with 20 points.
GSU continues its homestand Wednesday evening, hosting IU Northwest at 5 p.m. in the ARC.
