GOVERNORS STATE WINS 77-73 AT JUDSON TO UP CCAC CONFERENCE RECORD TO 3-1

ELGIN, Illinois –

The Jaguars upped their CCAC Conference record to 3-1 with a 77-73 win at Judson University.

A solid first half led by Vincent Davis (13 points, 7 rebounds) and Ben Underwood (11 points, hitting 3- 6 three pointers) put the Jaguars up 46-32 at the break.

Kyle Jackson contributed 8 first half points and the GSU defense limited Judson to (13-33 field goals, 39%) in the opening 20 minutes.

Governors State led by as many as 23 points (57-34) in the second half before the Eagles (2-7, 1-3 CCAC) came back to within three points down the stretch.

Key free throws by Jeremiah Johnson and Jackson in the final seconds secured the GSU road win.

Davis had an 18 points, 11 rebounds double-double to lead the Jaguars.

Underwood 11, Johnson 10, and Jackson 10 also scored in doubles for GSU.

The Jaguars (5-6, 3-1 CCAC) next host Bethel (Indiana) on Wednesday, Dec.13, 7 p.m. and are back in CCAC Conference games vs. first place IU South Bend (8-3, 4-0 CCAC) Saturday, Dec. 16, 3 p.m. in the GSU ARC.
