Governors State came out on fire hitting 11 of its first 16 field goals and 3-4 from three-point range and jumped all over Trinity Christian to lead 29-6 in the opening nine minutes of the first half.
In the first twenty minutes the Jaguars led 47-33 and had balanced scoring by the starting five with Tyrell Isom leading the way with 9 points. Oluyemi Elutilo scored 8 points, Jeremiah Johnson and Dekari Graham had 7 points each and Tyler Clarke had 6 points, 4 rebounds in the half.
GSU shot 18-32 field goals (57%) and 7-12 three-pointers (58%) in the first half.
Trinity Christian (4-12, 0-10 CCAC) battled all the way back to take the lead 63-62 with 10 minutes to play in the game.
The Jaguars (6-11, 4-5) then went on a 17-5 run to go up 79-68 with 4:25 remaining and the spurt was keyed by Clarke's 6 points.
Clarke led GSU with 19 points, 9 rebounds hitting 8-11 field goals and he registered two blocked shots.
Five Jaguars scored in double figures: Isom 16, Graham 12, Elutilo 10 and Delon Zollicoffer-White 10 points, 2 blocked shots with 4-7 field goals.
