ST. XAVIER BEATS GOVERNORS STATE 77-64 AT HOME IN CHICAGOLAND COLLEGIATE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

St. Xavier pulled away midway through the second half and beat Governors State at home Saturday 77-64 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
For GSU now 6-13, 4-7 CCAC, the Jaguars started quick and led 16-9 early in the first half.
A 13-0 Cougars run over six minutes put St. Xavier in the driver's seat and X was leading 35-28 at the break.
Tyrell Isom led GSU scorers in the first half with 7 points and Kendall Brasfield and Jeremiah Johnson scored five points each.
St. Xavier (13-7, 8-4 CCAC) was hot throughout the contest hitting 14-24 field goals in the first half (58%) and for the game shot (55%, 30-55) and hit 6-13 (47%) three-pointers in the win.
Isom continued his scoring leader role for the Jaguars and scored a team-high 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and Brasfield also scored in doubles for the Jaguars with 12 points.
GSU is next playing at home Wednesday, January 31 hosting Judson, 7 PM in the ARC.
