IU SOUTH BEND TITANS BEAT GSU JAGUARS 89-74 - Next On Schedule - Makeup Game vs. Olivet Nazarene Monday Night, February 5, 6PM in the GSU ARC -

Chuck Owens Jr. got the Jaguars rolling early in the first half hitting two three-pointers and scoring 10 first half points to put Governors State up early 18-6 five minutes into the contest.

IU South Bend (16-6, 11-3) then went on a 40-16 run to bolt ahead 46-34 at halftime.  The Titans beat the Jaguars 89-74 hitting nearly 60% of their shots in the home win (35-58, 59%).

The Titans lit up the scoreboard in the first half shooting 62% hitting 22-34 in the opening 20 minutes.

Kendall Brasfield led the Jaguars in scoring with 16 points and a team-high 5 rebounds.

Owens scored a GSU career-high 15 points (hitting 3-5 three-pointers) in the ball game. Also scoring in doubles for Governors State (6-15, 4-9 CCAC) was Oluyemi Elutilo with 13 points.

GSU has a busy week ahead hosting Olivet Nazarene University, Monday, Feb. 5 at 6 pm in a makeup game of the twice cancelled game.

And GSU also plays Wednesday, February 7, 7 p.m. hosting St. Ambrose in the ARC- men's/women's doubleheader. Monday's game is a men's game only, 6 pm CST start.
