DUBUQUE, Iowa- Governors State University played the #4 ranked NAIA team and defending national champions Clarke University to the max, with the Pride hitting a shot with 1.1 seconds remaining to win at home 68-66 in a heartbreaker for the Jaguars (1-1) who were led by Tabetha Jones' game-high 25 points.
Angelique Cowan contributed 12 points and Zareia Chevre with 8 points and a team-high 7 rebounds for GSU. The two teams played down to the wire with Clarke leading at halftime 31-28. Both teams scored 21 third quarter points and GSU out-scored the Pride in the second half.
