ADRIAN, Michigan - SIENA HEIGHTS WINS THANKSGIVING TOURNAMENT - BEATS JAGUARS IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 61-45

Siena Heights University (5-2) won its Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament beating Governors State (4-2) in the championship game 61-45. Balanced scoring for the Saints included three players scoring in double figures and two players led the team with a game-high nine rebounds each.

The Jaguars led 13-10 after one quarter but were out-scored 16-4 in the second quarter and trailed 26-17 at halftime.

Cold shooting in the game for GSU (15-55) 25.5% from the field and 1-10 from three point range. Siena Heights was 21-51 (42%) from the field and was (3-13, 23%) three-pointers. The Saints outrebounded GSU 45-31 in the championship contest.

Tabetha Jones led GSU in scoring vs. Siena Heights with 19 points, and a team-high 5 rebounds (tied with Zareia Chevre and Da'Naria Washington). Jones earned all-tournament team honors along with teammate Angelique Cowan.

Tabetha's three-games scoring this week with 21 points at Trinity Christian Tuesday, a 22 points-10 rebounds double-double in the Saturday tournament game 1, puts her season scoring avg. at 19.7 through six games. Jones will be one of the top CCAC nominees for Player of the Week honors after Kendall Winston was the GSU CCAC nominee last week hitting eight three-pointers in a game to set a new Jaguars school record.

Up next for GSU is the CCAC Conference home opener Wednesday, November 29, 5 PM-7PM women's/men's doubleheader at the ARC vs. Roosevelt University.
