JAGUARS LIFT SEASON RECORD TO 12-3, 6-1 CCAC WITH 68-56 WIN AT ST. AMBROSE

GSU upped its season record to 12-3 and 6-1 in the CCAC Conference with a 68-56 win at St. Ambrose Saturday.
The Jaguars led 17-14 after one quarter and offensive rebounding led the way with four rebound baskets (2 each by Zareia Chevre and Tabetha Jones).
In the first half GSU led 39-30 and shot 55% from the field (16-29) with Jones leading the offense with 14 points, hitting 6-8 field goals
St. Ambrose (2-9, 2-4) cut the Jaguars lead to three at 41-38 in the third quarter and GSU went on a 10-0 run and a 16-2 outburst to stay ahead for good leading 55-40 after three quarters.
Governors State was led in scoring by Jones with 20 points, making 9-15 field goals and totaling 5 rebounds. Chevre scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and Da'Naria Washington had 9 points and a team-high 9 rebounds and 3 assists for the winners. The Jaguars outrebounded St. Ambrose 43-33.
GSU's defense forced St. Ambrose into 25 turnovers in the game and the Jaguars had 12 steals and were led by Washington's 5 steals and Jones with 3.
