SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN - JAGUARS 15-3, 9-1 CCAC WITH 75-52 WIN vs. TRINITY CHRISTIAN

UNIVERSITY PARK, Illinois - -

GSU used balanced scoring with four players in double figures and the Jaguars bench contributed 27 points in a solid 75-52 win over Trinity Christian College in the ARC Saturday.

Angelique Cowan scored 17 points to lead Governors State (now 15-3, 9-1 CCAC) with the Jaguars winning for the sixth straight game jumping out to a 17-7 first quarter lead.

Tabetha Jones scored 14 points, Zareia Chevre had a double-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and Kendall Winston hit 3-7 three-pointers to score 11 points for the winners.

COWAN - SIMS BECOME ALL-TIME GSU ASSISTS & BLOCKED SHOTS LEADERS

Over the past month of games - Angelique Cowan is the new career assists leader with 195 breaking Ariana Dampier's record of 160 set (2018-2020). Trinity Sims is the new all-time blocked shots leader - 127, breaking Amber Brooks 103 (2016-21) and Trinity is the all-time games played leader (121) breaking Brooks record of 109 (2016-21).

The Jaguars are now 8-1 in home games at the ARC and are 11-1 in the last 12 games played and are second place in the CCAC (9-1, behind #19 ranked and 10-0 CCAC, 18-0 overall - IU South Bend).
